In the wet season these trees can be in a couple of metres of water. The flaora and fauna of Kakadu and the top end of the Northern Territory have to be able to deal with huge yearly changes in the environment from baking 40+ dry heat in the "Dry" to 40+ heat and 95% humidity in the "Big Wet" season.
