Dali Studio, Portligat
Dali returned here to stay in 1949 with his wife Gala, after fleeing to America during WW2 and this was the studio where he painted most of his pictures in the later part of his life. Interestingly the studio is very plain compared with the collections of bizarre and surreal objects that are to be found everywhere else in the house and grounds. On the right is a huge easel which could be dropped through the floor to accomodate huge canvases, so Dali could alwas paint at a comfortable height.
